Mission Accomplished Again~!

Phew~ I am so tired..!! Finally finished my emcee assignments for CJSOPA today. Today's fashion show was a really nerve racking one. Firstly, I've to speak completely in fluent english, secondly, there must be a certain slang to it that makes it sound like good english, thirdly it's a fashion show which I've completely no knowledge of, fourthly, I was late for the preparation so was kanchiong all the way from 1.30pm till after the fashion show at 5pm, and lastly, there was so many technicality faults today. *Sweats* And I had no time for lunch until after the event, so I was hungry throughout. I was sponsored with a lovely dress from Jems to wear throughout the show, and realize only after that in my haste, I forgot to slot the belt into the belt holes of the dress. No wonder it was so loose and nearly drop to my waist. Haha~~

Overall, it was an exciting event and I really learnt a lot about impromptu hosting, keeping my head with me, and being on my toes all the time, and to host in a language I'm not comfortable with. If we really want to do something, we definitely can if we put in our 100%. It only depends on whether we want it or not. ^_^

Here're some pictures taken by Melvin of today's event. Enjoy~

I'm on stage~!!!

Talking about Love

Beth's getting married~ Hehe... Just got Beth's wedding invitation card for her wedding on Oct 27th. Her card's really nice and personalized. Next time if I wanna do, must go ask her about it. Hee~

I still remember months ago, Beth say she don't wanna find a boyfriend so fast. She's focusing on her career. All of a sudden, she has this really good looking and charming boyfriend, and the next thing I know, she's getting married on Oct! Wow~! We really never know how things will turn out.

Some time ago, I kept having doubts about finding a boyfriend of what I want (I've a book of 68 written criterias of my boyfriend-to-be). I've been single for about 3 years and counting.. And even though I have so many guy friends, I don't have a boyfriend for that 3 years. Sometimes I was even worried I'll never find a boyfriend and stay single for the rest of my life. *Shivers* I can't deal with that. I yearn for romance and a family much more than the freedom of a single. Now, I suddenly have a boyfriend out of the streets. So sudden that people kept asking me who he actually was and how I got to know him, and whether they have seen him before. They had always thought maybe I would get together with this guy or that guy, and suddenly I was with another guy! Hahahaha~~~ Just like the mismatcher me to surprise people.

But I never did regret my choice in choosing Melvin as my boyfriend. In fact, I feel so blessed to have chosen Melvin. To me, he's not perfect, yet he fits me perfectly. I love him for his filial piety, his responsibility, his willingness to do anything for me (Like coming to my place at 3plus in the morning), his playfulness. And even more so, I love him for his wily-ness (which many people prob won't like), for his silly tempers, for his big pot of vinegar, for his idiotic manner of I'm always Right, for his unknowing control over me, for his weird taste of things, for his uncle-ness. Haha.. I really love him lots. Blahx. I think I'm lucky to have found him. Hee~ THINK only, don't think too much. =Pp If he knows it, he'll probably say, I told you so! You see... You're so lucky to have a boyfriend like me. He is so silly. But that's part of what I love about him.

Sometimes love is like this. It takes two to clap. Rather than waiting for unrequited love and make yourself suffer without experiencing the wonders of love, why not just let go and embrace the love given to you? I had unrequited love as well towards many different people. But I'm lucky to have been able to let go and grab hold of this Prince Charming who has been waiting for my love.

Every woman has the right to love and be loved. Whether you're fat, skinny, clever, stupid, evil or good, you will be loved. It is not a question, but a fact. There's always someone out there waiting to give us their love and receive ours. We are born, man and woman, meant for each other. Don't deny yourself of such opportunities. Let go of all the hesitation your ego's telling you that you're not worth it or that you've to wait for another. Because you truly are deserving of true love. We are each a jewel deep beneath. Let go, reach out, and you will realize the love waiting for you is truly magical.

My Laptop's Back!!!!

Finally my laptop's finished all its repairs!!! Hehehe.... So happy~~ Now I can use my laptop to my heart's delight. No need to wait for my bro to finish using the com everyday. As and when I wanna use my laptop I can do it. And I can even bring it out with me everyday! I never knew the greatness of a laptop until now~ Haha... But of course, last time I can't live without my laptop. Gotta carry it everywhere I am. To tuition, to wbg, to school, to everywhere. Now I can live without it, and celebrate the greatness of having it~ Hehe.. It really takes for one to lose something before knowing the preciousness of it. So cherish everything and everyone you have now, and not wait till the day you lose it before knowing how much you should have treasured it. ^_^

Mission Accomplished!

Yay~!!! I finally ended my MC hosting well today. The sunday show was changed to today 2-3pm. Phew~!!! Feel accomplished coz I was not as nervous yesterday and today, and managed to host it well. At least that's what I think la. Hee.. Of course, there's still lots of areas to be improved. But I'm very satisfied for my first 3 appearances on stage at somewhere unfamiliar this time.

Next week I'll be hosting a fashion show for CJSOPA. Hee... I'm sure it'll be great fun. If you're interested in seeing beautiful gals strutting down the aisle, do drop by next sunday. Will update more details when I know. ^_^

Good news to announce

I’ve been in a streak of good luck lately. Hee... I’ve always enjoyed being an MC on stage, be it in SCS or events. And now, I’ve got the chance to MC on a public stage! I’m really excited of what the future holds, at the same time so afraid I’ll mess it all up. Ha…

To me, MC is really fun. It’s like watching a horror movie or sitting on a rollercoaster. You’d be so terrified when the rollercoaster’s going up. You see no end to it and so scared of what’ll happen next. And when you reach the tip of the rollercoaster, you’re so terrified and think that you can no longer go on. You’ll die if it starts to go down. But when it’s going down, you scream your lungs out and your adrenaline starts pumping. Wow! It’s so fun! And the cycle goes on until the end of the rollercoaster ride. Hehe.. being an MC is just like that. Days before the on stage performance, I can’t sleep at night and get so nervous. I’ll keep preparing and preparing, memorizing and memorizing. There’s no end of preparation for it. Then just before going on stage, it’s so so so terrifying that I just want to go home and wished I never signed up on it. Once I’m on stage, legs start trembling, and I’ll start mumbling. Then my adrenaline starts pumping and I’ll talk about anything to my heart's delight. Hehe… And everyone will have to listen to you coz they got no choice. The mike’s in your control! Just the right thing for the attention seeking me. Blahx. But it’s really great fun!

First Public Appearance as MC

Battle of Voices Quarter Finals – Hougang Mall, 8 Sep 07

It was sheer luck that I got the chance to MC in the BOV quarter finals. Mel was looking for MCs and got me to go since I was an MC for SCS. I think he was partly thinking, you always say SCS so good this and that. Then let me see how good you are as an MC and prove me wrong. Haha.. Ok. Maybe he wasn’t really thinking this way. But it all turned out really well. I was so nervous when I was on stage to MC this event coz there were so many audiences down below, and I didn’t know my co-host until then. I took the one hour before the event to chat with my co-host and got as ready as I can before time’s up. And, I’m definitely not ready when the event’s to begin. I’ll never be ready before any event! It’s so terrifying to see the hundreds of people looking at you while you’re on stage. Luckily everything turned out so well. The audience at Hougang Mall were very receptive and the mood was great. I stumbled through the opening, and got a few mistakes in calling the judges as the panel of jury and vice versa, but other than that, everything turned out really well. Hehehe… Melvin even said I was really great as an MC! So proud of myself. See, WBG trained us well ar! The event ended with a high note and one of the judges, Celine from Celine Jessandra School of Performing Arts (CJSOPA, pronounced as CJ-SOPA) even invited me to be the host for her mid-autumn event!

So... one thing leads to another…

Mid-Autumn Event @ Square 2 – 16 Sep 07

This event was by management of Square 2 and CJSOPA. Days before this event, I was so so so nervous! This was the first time I’m officially employed on payroll for being an MC. The amount of preparation I did was humongous, but even so it wasn’t sufficient to prepare me. When I finally stood on the stage of Square 2, I was so so nervous! My legs were trembling as I addressed the audience. I think it was because I was unfamiliar with Square 2 and its stage, the audience looked so hostile to me. And of course, I was unfamiliar with the performers and artistes of CJSOPA, so I felt so alien to everything. Sigh. I felt like I messed up my start. But it was great that Celine was so supportive, and encouraged me on. My performance later improved and I slowly picked myself up on stage. Phew. But still feel bad. I couldn’ve done so so so so so much better!!! Blahx. Anyway, the performers, artistes and guest artiste of CJSOPA were really good!! I always loved to sing and enjoyed listening to good singers. I must say, the performers of CJSOPA were marvelous. They were all very different individuals, yet Celine could combine their strengths together and make such a great vocal performance. There were two artistes who exceptionally impressed me a lot. One was Charlene, a guest artiste of CJSOPA. She could sing really really well. Even waitresses of one of the restaurant at level 4 came out just to look at her sing. Another was a young artiste by the name of Josephine. She’s only 17 this year, yet she not only sings well, and dances so well! She choreographed her own Korean dance and performed the dance routine on stage. It was really good. *Impressed* ^_^

Really feel that I could learn loads from this group of people at CJSOPA. All are so young, yet working so hard towards their dreams. I’ve still got two more mid-autumn events with them this Friday and Sunday. If you’re interested in listening to great songs and supporting these next rising stars of Singapore, do come down to support us at Square 2 on 21 Sep 6-6.30pm, and 23 Sep 3-4pm.

If you’re one who loves singing and performing, or simply loves Korean culture, I’ll recommend CJSOPA. It seems like a really great school with close-knitted students. And Celine’s a really nice person. CJSOPA, or Celine Jessandra School of Performing Arts is the only school in Singapore which teaches Korean vocals and dance. If you wanna learn the 电臀, hehe… you can go for it too! Courses provided are as follows:

- Vocal (Singing): English, Mandarin, Korean
- Dance: Hip-Hop, Korean Hip-Hop
- Korean Language Course
- Piano
- Kids' Course
- Talent Management

New games discovered in Yahoo!
I just discovered some really fun games! I was bored the last week at home coz really sian of working as surveyor, and for the last two days I was sick. Some of the games in Yahoo! are really very fun! Hehe… I enjoyed playing different trial games for hours. Of course, not all games are terrific.

Here’re some games I recommend:

~*Wedding Dash *~
Game Features:
2 modes: Career, Endless Reception.
9 wedding mishaps to overcome - everything from bees to bridezillas, tipsy guests, falling cakes, and catty bridesmaids.

Game Description:
Help Quinn make wedding bells ring! Featuring the hilarious ups and downs of wedding day drama, Wedding Dash incorporates the plate-spinning fun from the Diner Dash series with the added challenge of pulling off the perfect wedding reception. Can you keep the bride and groom happy and Quinn's business afloat?

My comments:
Really fun game! The game tests you on memory skills of how well you can remember what the couple wants, and fast-pace action in the wedding reception. Very addictive and I simply love the game graphics.

Ravenhearst
Game Features:
32 beautifully new, unique rooms
Dozens of puzzles to solve
Thousands of hidden objects
Changing levels enhance replay value

Game Description:
The recently acquired diary of Emma Ravenhearst may hold the key to unraveling the history of this unsettling place, yet the pages are missing. Players assume the role of Master Detective to unlock secrets held within Ravenhearst, scouring 32 rooms in the manor for cleverly hidden clues.

My comments:
Really nice graphics with difficult yet not too difficult objects to find. I especially love the bonus stage where you’ve to figure out what to do next with the clues given.
