We're going to Taiwan!

Melvin and I had been looking at wedding pictures for a long time and thinking of what bridal saloon to get for our wedding. Hearing about the wedding fair in Vivocity, we just went to it and see what good packages we can get for. We had no intentions of getting anything and was there to look see, and will only get a package if it suits what we want. But... in the end, our defenses gave way.

We only reached Vivocity at 3plus and we hadn't had anything to eat yet. We wanted to go for a late lunch before heading to the booths, but one of the booth just attracted us over without our knowing. Before we know it, we're already sitted in one of the booths by Taiwanese Company 浪漫一生. I can assure you, we were only there to LOOK SEE, not for any purchase coz anyone will know that it'll be expensive to get a package overseas. Right?

The woman who talked to us was very nice. Think they were all Taiwanese. There was only one singapore lady who went around. But Melvin and I weren't so attracted to her coz she's rather boisterous and didn't seem very professional. She said she was there to make us singaporeans feel more assured, and I'm like.. diaox.. so weird. In the end, we were so bought over by the pictures that we put down a 2K deposit and now awaiting for the trip to Taiwan.

After the purchase, Melvin and me felt so worried. First, we haven't looked into overseas package and don't know the market rate, secondly, we haven't heard of 浪漫一生before... And thirdly, overseas package means we've to take care ourselves of our actual day gowns etc. It's only a overseas Photoshoot package. So... we've spent quite a bit just on our album itself. My thinking is photoshoot is most important coz it'll be something to keep in remembrance of our wedding. We can save on the dinner preparations and all but not photoshoot, but it's still a big sum. So after that I kept doing budgetting, and Melvin kept searching online about 浪漫一生.

After searching for a few days... we finally realized that.... 浪漫一生is a branded company! Haha! And the Singaporean lady who was boisterous and 'unpro' was actually a well known makeup artist in Singapore (I saw an article on her in Style Wedding)! Diaox. So... it's a blessing in disguise. Haha.. Although we really did pay quite a bit for our photoshoot, at least we're getting a great photoshoot and a wonderful time in Taiwan for our 'honeymoon'. We'll be going next year in March so that we can take pictures with the sakura and by the sea.

Here's my favourite album taken by 浪漫一生 (posted by people on the forum). If you're looking into going overseas for photoshoot, you can take it into consideration, if you don't have a tight budget. ^_^

Bored...

I'm so bored...!!! Been cooped up all day at home coz my gastric's acting up again. But I didn't know it's sooooooooo.... boring to be at home with nothing to do (and nothing to eat). Put on The Romantic Princess to watch, and tried surfing the net, but still feel so bored. I prefer working, at least time pass much faster. Sigh. If in future I have kids and have to stay home for maternity leave or something, I don't know how I'll handle it. I'll probably start to have cobwebs all over me. B-O-R-E-D. Don't know what I should do next. Ya. Find some food. But... hungry yet no appetite. =( Hope Melvin comes soon~~~

Updates!

We talked to my parents yesterday night. Keke.. It was so funny that Melvin was so nervous to tell them that he didn't wanna go initially. In the end, he still blurted it out to them at 12+ midnight as if it was part of a conversation. We're talking about our flat application and then, he just added in a sentence that we're gonna get ROM-ed soon. Ha! And my parents said, should've done it earlier. Duh. At least it's mission accomplished that we told them. Now the only thing is, what happens after ROM? Our parents seem completely fine at first that we'll move out to stay together. But all of a sudden, ROM to them is just a ROM. It's not a marriage. *scratch head* Then... what's a marriage? I'm suddenly lost by what they want. I thought it's just a status and after that we can live together and all. Now it seems like the traditional wedding dinner is a marriage, not ROM. ROM is just signatures on papers. So weird. So by then, we'll be legally married, but not acknowledged kinda married. Parents. I can never understand what's on their mind. So now... I don't know what's next after ROM. It'll prob still be the same except that I'm Mrs Teo on papers. *Confused* I'll be having identity crisis soon after that. So wat's the point of getting ROM-ed if we're not married after that???

Sigh. But lucky thing is my parents are not asking for anything but a simple and cost saving wedding. So we'll just ROM with my immediate family and very few close friends coz can't invite too many for it. If you're not invited, please don't mind k? We have to keep the numbers down for the ROM coz I've too many close family members le..We'll invite more pp for the wedding dinner if we've more budget then. So remember to give big big angbao for my wedding ok? If not dun invite you. Ha!

Anyway, I'm too distracted now to blog. Watching 公主小妹. hee~ it's quite interesting and funny, yet lame coz the acting was really lousy. Ha! But I really like the dressing and makeovers of Zhang Shao Han. It's the main reason why I watch the show. The dresses and makeup is really nice! Prob I'll do something like that for my ROM. Saw a beautiful princessy gown yesterday and felt so so soooooo tempted to buy it for my ROM. It's not really ex, just $168 plus $8 for any alteration. But.. my ROM is months away, so I should keep a lookout at the time being. It's just really nice, and a designer item... Sigh. No choice. Just wait and slowly view bah... hopefully I see something nicer than it and not feel regretful.. I wanna wear a princessy gown and a tiara on my head~! ^_^

The Future Ahead

We've been trying to get a flat for some time. In my previous post, I had written of applying for Punggol Lodge. Actually we got a number but didn't go to get a unit eventually because all the left-overs were not tt good units. We're still in the midst of applying, and got a (possible) number for Damai. It's queue number 900+ so... haha.. still crossing our fingers. We've applied the new Punggol Spring and just went to look at some resale flats too.

I always thought resale flats will be old old houses that people want to move out of. But last week, Melvin and I tagged along to view flats with Peter and his clients, and I realize, resale flats can be very nice too! Haha... Call me SK, I don't care. Blahx. I really loved the last house that we view. It's in Buangkok, near my old house, and very pretty. The house was renovated well with designer items and it's less than 5 years! Too bad Melvin said he don't like living in houses which people lived before especially since they're divorced. Sigh...

Anyway, we're preparing to get ROM-ed. Hee~ It's something we've discussed for quite some time, and finally sorta decided that we'll do it this year. (no, I'm still waiting for his proposal) He discussed with his parents and they agreed and tonight, we'll be telling mine. *sweats* Neither of us wants to be the one to say it, so we thought just say it together. Hopefully it'll be nice, short and sweet. Hee~

We've actually been around to look at some solitaires, and I still feel that S**K**'s solitaires are nicer and cheap. No point getting such an expensive ring when I won't think of selling it. Hee.. So cheapo right?? Anyway, it's jus a stone on the finger. The meaning to it is mostly highly advertised by jewellery companies to hike the prices of diamonds. Think of the poor people digging them out with little earnings. I feel guilty buying when I thought of it... but nvm. It's a 'proposal' (without the proposal) ring for god's sake! We can indulge a bit and spend less than 2k on it. (falling into the bad habit of self talk again)

Ha! Anyway... we'll be going to a fortune teller soon to get our dates for marriage. We'll be doing the ROM first and the dinner will prob be one or two years down the road. We may or may not get a resale first, depending on whether it's allowed by HDB and also if Melvin finally decide it's alright staying in a resale before getting a new flat. Still planning for our ROM, but we(I)'ve already decided on the theme as Summer theme. Hee~ It'll be full of vibrancy, romance, flowers and we'll be wearing summer wear~ It'll be so fun! And of course, not too ex. Keke~~

Plans for our future:
1) Get ROM-ed in 2008
2) Wedding Dinner in 09 or 10
3) A flat of our own
4) Have at least 2 kids
5) Earn lotsa money in our careers (I wanna get a Master's) and migrate to Australia (Singapore's pace of life is just too hectic. We(I) want some time to spend with our family)

Wish us luck!!! ^_^
